Description
Heidegg Castle, which is mentioned for the first time in 1192, is unique in that it was not destroyed by the Confederates at the time of the Wars of Liberation. It is said that Mother Mary heard the plea of the damsel and thus shrouded Heidegg in thick fog, which is why the then seat of the Kyburgs and Habsburgs was spared from destruction. Heidegg is the oldest preserved residential building in the Canton of Lucerne. The area also has a unique rose garden. In addition, the castle also includes a vineyard, which was recently expanded.
