Privacy Policy
Transparent handling of personal data is important to us. Here you can find out which data we process when operating this website and for enquiries, applications, and location submissions — and what rights you have.
Responsible body
The body responsible for the processing of personal data in connection with this website is:
Film Commission Lucerne and Central Switzerland
Gesegnetmattstrasse 10, 6006 Luzern, Switzerland
welcome@filmcommission-centralswitzerland.ch

If you have any questions about data protection, requests for information, or to exercise your rights, you can contact this address directly.
Principles
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (revDSG) and, where applicable, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We only collect data that we require for the respective purpose, process it in good faith, and protect it with appropriate technical and organisational measures.
The website is transmitted exclusively in encrypted form (TLS/HTTPS).
What data we process
### Automatically collected data
When you visit the website, technical data transmitted by your browser is logged:
- IP address (shortened or stored only for a short time)
- Date, time, and page accessed
- Browser type, operating system, and language
- Referring page (referrer)
This data serves the secure and stable operation, troubleshooting, and protection against misuse.
### Data transmitted by you
When you fill out a form, write to us, or call us, we process the data provided — in particular name, company, function, email address, telephone number, details of the project, as well as uploaded files and images.
Forms: Enquiry, Incentive Application, Location Submission
### Enquiry and press form
We process your details (including contact data, project type, time period, budget range, message, and any shortlist sent) in order to answer your enquiry and advise you. The legal basis is the initiation of a contract or our legitimate interest in fulfilling our service mandate.
### Location Scouting Incentive
To review an application, we process details regarding the production company, project, budget, shooting schedule, and cost receipts. This data is required for the assessment and billing of the contribution and will be archived in accordance with retention obligations.
### Submit a location
Anyone submitting a filming location transmits details about the property, contact data, and visual material. We review this data and, after approval, publish exclusively the location details and images — your personal contact details are not displayed publicly. By submitting, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to the visual material.
### Spam and abuse protection
To protect the forms, we use technical checks (including hidden fields and time measurements). No profiles are created and no data is transmitted to advertising networks.
Hosting, database and email dispatch
The website is operated by a professional hosting provider. Content, location data, media, and form entries are stored in a Supabase database (PostgreSQL) with server location in Europe; access is restricted to authorised personnel of the Film Commission and is logged.
Notification and confirmation emails are sent via the email service provider Mailgun. In this process, the data provided in the form as well as technical delivery information are processed.
All service providers are contractually obligated as processors to process data exclusively according to instructions and confidentially.
Reach measurement (Google Analytics, consent-based)
We statistically evaluate the use of this website to improve content and structure. Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin) is used for this purpose. The service is technically integrated such that it is not loaded without your consent (Google Consent Mode: analytics_storage "denied" by default).
The following applies:
- Measurement only starts after your express consent via the cookie notice.
- The IP address is shortened (IP anonymisation); no clear names are collected.
- Aggregated key figures such as page views, duration of stay, country of origin, and devices used are evaluated.
- Transmission to the USA cannot be ruled out; it takes place based on standard contractual clauses.
- You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.
As long as no measurement ID is activated, no reach measurement of any kind takes place.
Maps, videos and embedded content
The map views on this website are based on open map data (OpenStreetMap contributors); map sections are loaded from the respective map service, whereby your IP address is transmitted.
Videos and social media posts (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, LinkedIn) are only embedded if they belong to the content of the post. When playing or loading such content, data is transmitted to the respective platform; their data protection regulations apply.
Disclosure to third parties and disclosure abroad
We only disclose personal data if it is necessary to process your request, if you have given your consent, or if we are legally obliged to do so. Recipients may include, in particular:
- Authorities and municipalities within the scope of permit procedures
- Owners of filming locations
- Funding bodies and partner organisations for applications
- IT, hosting, and email service providers as processors
Disclosure abroad only takes place to countries with adequate data protection or based on recognised guarantees such as standard contractual clauses. Your data will not be sold.
Retention
We retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the respective purpose or as required by statutory retention periods. Inquiries are generally kept for the duration of the project support and thereafter for a reasonable period for evidentiary purposes; documents relating to incentive applications are subject to commercial and accounting law periods. After this, the data is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Within the framework of the applicable law, you have the following rights in particular:
- Access to the data processed about you
- Rectification of inaccurate and completion of incomplete data
- Deletion or restriction of processing
- Release or transfer of your data in a standard format
- Objection to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdrawal of granted consent with effect for the future
Please send your request with suitable proof of identity to welcome@filmcommission-centralswitzerland.ch. We generally process requests within 30 days. You also have the right to legal recourse; the competent supervisory authority in Switzerland is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes to this privacy policy
We will adapt this privacy policy if our services, the tools used, or the legal requirements change — for example, upon the introduction of reach measurement. The version published on this page is the one currently in force.
