Synopsis
What would you say if you were suddenly allowed to work for the most famous and sought-after woman of your century? To travel the world with her and have the chance, perhaps, to even become her best friend? It could all be so beautiful. Had you not fallen immortally in love with her. What a disaster.
This is the predicament of Countess Irma (Sandra Hüller) in SISI & ICH, the feature film by Frauke Finsterwalder. Empress Sisi (Susanne Wolff) has reached the latter half of her life. Irma finds her, surrounded by women, in a kind of aristocratic commune in Greece, a whole universe away from the etiquette of the Austrian court.
