Description
The Alte Hammerschmiede is a striking brick building from 1910, its red clinker façade standing directly on the main road where the Luthern flows into the Wigger. Inside, a continuous workshop hall opens up with a visible, original roof structure, whose authentic metal-framed windows were preserved during the 2025 renovation. In the courtyard, tools from the forging era still hang—traces of a site where iron was shaped by hydropower until the 1960s. This historic building offers a credible narrative of the early 20th century, industrial labour, and craftsmanship, and is now also used as an event location.
