Summary
The Furka pass road (connecting Gletsch in Valais to Realp in the Canton of Uri) gained international fame as a filming location for James Bond's "Goldfinger". The pass is part of the three-pass tour comprising Furka, Grimsel and Susten. During the summer, the Furka steam railway runs from Realp to Gletsch through a wildly romantic landscape on the Uri side of the pass. From the Furkapass summit, there is a wonderful view of the Gotthard massif, the Urserental and the Bernese and Valais Alps. The Furka-Oberalp-Bahn car shuttle station is located in Realp.
