Höllgrotten Caves

Dripping marvel inside the mountain

Summary

The Höllgrotten near Baar are stalactite caves located in the Lorze river ravine. A small lake lies among the many stalactites, stalagmites, and stalagnates, which was first explored when the caves were discovered in 1863. Seeing the dripstones and tree roots covered in deposits, the discoverers believed them to be a demonic creation. Today, each cave has its own lighting design, creating a particularly atmospheric experience for visitors.
