Summary
Situated above Obernau (municipality of www.kriens.ch), this pilgrimage church (built 1501 – 1662) is particularly notable for its unique pictorial ceiling featuring 324 Marian symbols. The sacred building with its Baroque furnishings was erected at the hermitage of Brother Johann Wagner. In 1649, a Loreto Chapel was integrated into the church. Hergiswald is a station on the Way of St. James.
