Bildnachweis: © LUPS
Summary
This impressive Cistercian monastery was founded in 1195. The complex was expanded over the centuries and today stands out for its white facades and Baroque church. Also worth seeing are the oak and walnut choir stalls and the church organ, one of the largest Baroque organs in Europe. Following the dissolution of the monastery, the buildings served as a psychiatric clinic. This was recently relocated to new buildings. Today, the monastery complex serves as a culture and event location, impressing visitors with its diverse, historical range of rooms and the church as a concert venue.
