Summary
The German composer Richard Wagner resided and composed in this stately 15th-century country manor, situated in the romantic parkland of the hilly Tribschenhorn lakeshore, from 1866 to 1872. His children Eva and Siegfried were born on the estate, and he was visited there several times by Friedrich Nietzsche. Since 1933, the manor house has served as a museum, presenting the life and work of Richard Wagner during his time in Luzern.
