Fascinating relic of the Cold War

Summary
The Sonnenberg civil defence facility is one of the largest underground shelters in the world and an impressive sign of the times. It was built in the 1970s for 20,000 people. Between 2006 and 2008, the facility was scaled back and converted; it currently provides 2,000 shelter places. The atmosphere, with its endless corridors and tunnels, technical facilities, training rooms, local command posts, telephone exchange, emergency hospital, lift and kitchen, is highly authentic and offers great cinematic potential.
