Summary
Willisau, the main town of the Luzern district of the same name, is famous not only for its Willisauer-Ringli (biscuits) but also for its historic old town featuring medieval wooden structures. The Müligass row of houses, in particular, bears witness to this historic architecture. The oldest structure is the Late Romanesque bell tower. The Heilig-Blut-Kapelle is also well worth a visit. According to legend, the name Willisau originated when two brothers were considering a name, and one said: "Mir isch glych, wi d s duu witt, will i s ou" (It's all the same to me; however you want it, I want it too). in recent times, the international Jazz Festival Willisau has also brought the town fame.
